SHERIFF BRIAN ALBERT
PROVEN LEADERSHIP DELIVERING RESULTS FOR OUR COMMUNITY
Brian Albert is honored to serve Washington County as Sheriff. Elected in 2022 and sworn in as the 79th Sheriff of Washington County on December 15, 2022, he brings decades of leadership and dedication to public service.
Prior to being elected Sheriff, Brian served as Assistant Director of the Division of Emergency Services, overseeing the 911 Center. He also retired as a Captain from the Maryland Natural Resources Police after more than 28 years of service, where he commanded the Western Region from Frederick to Garrett Counties.
A lifelong resident of Clear Spring, Brian and his wife, Susan, raised two daughters in the community they call home. He has been deeply involved in youth and community activities, coaching youth and high school sports for more than 25 years and serving on numerous citizens’ advisory boards for both the Board of Education and Washington County. Raised in his family’s grocery store, Brian has been connected to the Washington County community since childhood.
Brian is also a proud United States Air Force veteran and has dedicated more than 34 years to public service.
